Remember when all of my jeans died and I scored not one, but three pairs of awesome jeans? These Calvin Klein's were one of the pairs I brought home from my haul. These are definitely not sitting or eating jeans, but these are most definitely booty jeans!
I have always loved having a larger-than-average booty. A little junk in the trunk, if you will. Growing up as a dancer, I could totally shake it. Being on the hip hop team I was a part of this past year, my badonkadonk helped me show everyone that I've still got it! My fiance loves to climb the stairs behind me, just for the view -- and rarely does he do so without copping a feel. ;)

While I did wear a rear-end flattering outfit to work (something involving a pencil skirt -- I don't recall what exactly, since I was too exhausted to snap photos) I thought it would be more appropriate to celebrate my arse in these jeans, in a more casual ensemble. What does it say about me that I had no qualms about showing off the girls at work, but calling attention to my rear assets made me a bit nervous? Hrm...
Either way, thanks be to the bootay!

Go Red Snow Day...

This is not the outfit I had planned on wearing today in honor of Go Red for Women Day. Due to all of the snow we were expecting today, I decided to work from home instead of heading into the office, and I opted for a more casual look instead of the schmancier ensemble I had planned on wearing -- don't worry, though, I will wear that outfit once we are back in the office, and I'll be sure to snap a photo!

Sweater: Moda International via Victoria's Secret
Tshirt: Kohl's
Pants: NY&Co
Socks, gift from future MIL

That's right, kids; no shoes with this outfit. With the exception of the black sneakers I wore to the grocery store and my fiance's office, I was shoeless all day. As such, I decided to sport the snowflake socks my fiance's mom gave me as a stocking stuffer I think last year?

I picked up a few of these tshirts at Kohl's a few years ago, and I had never thought to incorporate them into a look I could wear to work. But seeing it under this chunky cardi, I might have to rethink that!
What I really love about this cardi is that it buttons up off-center. I think that gives it a funky bit of flair, so I usually style it fairly simply. It works really well left open or fully buttoned up, but more of the time I wear it with a few buttons closed and the rest left open to show the under layer.

Fiance and I walked to the grocery store today -- our new place is just a block away! It was nice to take a walk in the snow before it got too heavy, to wet, and too dirty to want to be out in it. It was also nice to get some food in this house other than fast food! Our fridge now has actual ingredients in it, which we haven't had since we moved in last week. Taking a walk, carrying back groceries, a real meal...I feel healthier already!

Tenacious...

Since all you have seen from me so far are outfits I have worn to work, I finally decided to snap a few photos from a weekend outfit. On the one hand, I don't think I put as much thought into pulling a real "look" together on the weekend (unless I actually have plans). But on the other hand, I feel like I'm more free to dress the way I want and be myself on the weekend. It's a bit counter-productive, I suppose.

Thermal Tee: Tenacis D Concert
Jeans: Levi's (overdyed by me)
Boots: Torrid
Knit Beret: Torrid
Earrings: NY&Co
Cuff: Claire's?

I *FINALLY* found myself a pair of flat, faux suede, slouch boots that not only fit over my calves, but are actually large enough to fit over my jeans too! It's a look I have really loved on other bloggers and wished for quite some time that I could replicate myself, but until last week I couldn't find any boots that would work. Ideally, I really wanted brown boots, but all they had in the store was black, so I jumped on them. (I let my mommy know I wanted the brown ones, which are still being sold online, so hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised!)

I got this thermal tee at a Tenacious D concert many a moon ago. I love Jack Black, and was really surprised to find out that the man actually has some serious musical talent!
What you maybe haven't been able to tell from my blog thus far is that at heart, I'm really a rocker chick. Yes, I'm the girl who, back in high school, hung out with all the stoner kids and wore dog collars to the mall. Actually, I'm pretty sure I still have a spiked collar in a random jewelry box somewhere...

What are your thoughts on this beret?
I don't often wear hats because I think with my short hair and the extra weight I've got in my face/neck area, they generally just aren't very attractive on me. But I didn't have time to wash and dry my hair this morning, and we had a long day of starting to pack up the house for our move next weekend -- so I really didn't want to be pushing my hair out of my face all day. I still wanted to look kinda cute, so I threw on this knitted beret that was a last-minute purchase (at the same time I was buying the boots). Sadly, when I came downstairs after getting dressed, my fiance took one look at me and started laughing... I'm thinking he wasn't a fan. I didn't really love it at first, but I think it has grown on me -- surely its more stylish than my usual solution of just clipping it back to keep it out of the way.
What say you?
