The One that Started It All...

I can probably point to my purchase of this dress as the awakening of my fashion revival. Before buying this dress, I was in a serious rut, buying only things that were comfortable. I was utterly upset over my ever-growing weight and body, and shopping for clothes and looking nice was at the bottom of the totem pole that was my list of priorities.

Dress: NY&Co
Shoes: thrifted
Belt: NY&Co
Necklace: thrifted
Bracelet: gift
Earrings: from a stand in the mall, gift from fiance

When I spotted this dress in the store, I knew it would feel good with its soft, comfy fabric and its lack of waist restriction. I tried it on on a whim, and I totally fell in love with it. Suddenly my perspective on clothing completely changed -- I can buy cute clothes that make me look and feel good!
This was about 2 years ago, and I still really love this dress.

Have you ever had any fashion epiphanies?

  1. My fashion epiphanie was the morning of my bridal shower a year ago. I wanted to wear my mom's wedding dress (it's a 70s green pinstriped dress- my parents got married in a courthouse) but needed a better way to belt it. So my sister made me get my butt to Target and purchase a black studded belt. I wore the dress, belt and black gladiator heels.
And that was the beginning of everything, and how my blog came to be! :)

Love that dress on you. And the red mixed in!

  2. I discovered belting makes a WORLD of difference and I do it a LOT now. lol

  3. I love this dress! I'm thinking it must have been in-store while I was pregnant with my last child or else I TOTALLY would have snapped it up!

  4. You look great. I love the dress.

  5. You THRIFTED those fabulous shoes!? Color me jealous. :) You look fabulous!
