I wore this outfit on Monday, and I must admit, I felt rather smart in it.
Top: swapped
Jacket: Nordstrom Rack
Pants: Marshall's
Shoes: NickelsSoft, thrifted
Earrings: Claire's
Necklace: Laila Rowe
Bracelet: Tiffany
I love the idea of mixing high-end and low-end pieces in one outfit.
I don't recall the brand of this jacket offhand, but I bought it at Nordstrom Rack, and it is definitely something I couldn't have afforded if I would have had to pay full price for it. Likewise, this Tiffany bracelet was a gift from my parents for my 30th birthday. (Every girl needs a little piece of Tiffany, dontcha think?)
However, the pants were purchased at discount retailer Marshall's, the shoes were thrifted, and the top was free via a clothing swap.
This is of of those outfits that proves that you don't have to pay an arm and a leg to feel like a million bucks.
PS: Let me introduce you to Raul Duke. Some people have children, some people have "fur babies," and some people, such as my fiance and myself, have these adorable little monsters waiting for us at home:
Love the punch of color by adding your top!
ReplyDeleteDo your babies bite?? LOL! My Aunt had an Iguana for eons and he was her baby ;)
they never used to bite (and one of them never even comes out of her hidey-hole, but ever since we started feeding Raul Duke mealworms (with chopsticks, no less -- he is very cultured) he seems to think our fingers are worms and tries to eat them. no damage done yet!
ReplyDeleteLove this from head to toe. My fav are the t-strap shoes (for some reason I have a "thing" for t-straps). The whole ensemb is very fetching (did I really just type that - sounds so stuffy). Anyhoo...You look fab (as does your Iguana).
ReplyDeleteRaul Duke wants me to point out for the record that he is a Bearded Dragon, not an iguana. ;)
ReplyDeleteI totally agree - you don't have to spend a million bucks to look like a million bucks! I love that pinky top.
ReplyDeleteHow cool! I love the name of Raul (ha! "Fear and Loathing").
bonus points to you, sheila, for knowing where the name came from! the fiance is a huge fear + loathing fan. (btw, i like to award imaginary points for some non-existent game that goes on only in my head. it a quirk, but i like to think its endearing) ;)
ReplyDeleteAww, I love beardies, and I just about fell over when I saw his name. Have you seen Gonzo? I just watched it the other night -- it's a great bio of Hunter, who's one of my heroes.
