Wardrobe Capsule Challenge, Day 2...

Top: Old Navy
Vest: H&M
Pants: NY&Co
Shoes: Urban Outfitters
Earrings: Body Central
Purse: Nine West via Marshalls
Belt: Marshalls?

All new wardrobe pieces and accessories for my second outfit, no overlaps other than the purse (which I only included in my accessories so that I wasn't cheating). I usually use purses more for function than fashion, but I do like for my purses to add a little something to my outfit. I didn't want to cheat on my first time out doing the Wardrobe Capsule Challenge, so I selected a purse that would work with all of my outfits. This purse is much smaller than what I normally carry, and I have been missing the items I had to leave out of it in order to make it work. You never know what you use until it is no longer at your fingertips!

This outfit is mainly blue and gray, but I love how the small touches of green in the purse, earrings, and shoes add a layer of depth to the look.

I have a great look planned for day 3 of the challenge, which aside from accessories (which I have maxed out), uses yet all new wardrobe pieces!
And since so many of you love this skirt, keep an eye out, since it will be the focus of the outfit!

Are there any questions you would like to ask me? I'd love to have more interaction with my readers, so please, ask me anything!

  1. ahhh I wish I knew about this challenge... it sounds so fun! 10 pieces in 5 days... very cool idea. I love the vest you have here.

ps. check out my new blog ;)

  2. I love the belted vest and the print on the top!
I too, included my purse in my capsule wardrobe accessories so I wouldn't be cheating ;)

  3. This must be the shirt that goes with my Alice skirt! Gorgeous blue. I've always been a huge fan of this color with dark hair.

  4. Love that blouse. What a gorgeous pattern!

  5. Love the vest! It looks great on you! Can't wait to see that skirt again.

  6. That's really impressive that you didn't overlap at all yet. That's tough to do! To be honest, I think of my purses as a "functional" item, too. I tend to carry the same purse for months on end until boredom or necessity compel me to switch.

I love the pattern of that blouse - looks like swirly peacock feathers! That is great of you to always include close-up photos. I'll have to remember to do this more often.

  7. I love how royal blue looks with gray and black! SO chic!

  8. I love the pattern on your blouse, and those earrings are gorgeous!

BTW: Would you mind updating your blogroll? My blog has a different name and url now.

  9. I LOOOOOOVE this on you! The proportions are wonderful, and I love the big belt on top of the vest! I envy everyone who can wear a vest well...
